On 8 July 2026, the global paramedic community came together once again to celebrate International Paramedics Day.
This year's theme, Innovate & Integrate, highlighted the remarkable ways paramedics, educators, researchers, students and organisations are shaping the future of prehospital care through collaboration, new ideas and a shared commitment to better patient outcomes.
Throughout the day, we were proud to see social media filled with stories from around the world. From ambulance services and universities to charities, professional bodies and community organisations, thousands of people joined the conversation to celebrate the professionalism, dedication and impact of paramedics.
We were inspired by submissions showcasing advances in education, simulation and training, community paramedicine, point-of-care ultrasound, integrated emergency response and cross-border collaboration. Equally inspiring were the personal stories celebrating teamwork, resilience and the people behind the profession.
International Paramedics Day is only possible because of the incredible support of our partners and contributors. This year we added 44 organisations from across all six inhabited continents as official partners, taking our total to over 180. Organisations shared case studies, videos, photographs and messages, demonstrating that while healthcare systems may differ, the values that unite paramedics are universal.
To everyone who submitted content, shared a post, hosted an event, recognised a colleague or simply helped spread the message—thank you.
Your enthusiasm helped make International Paramedics Day 2026 our most global celebration yet.
Below are just some of the highlights from across social media, showcasing the innovation, collaboration and dedication that define our profession.
Looking Ahead
While International Paramedics Day is celebrated on one day each year, its purpose extends far beyond a single date.
The conversations sparked, the partnerships strengthened and the stories shared this year will continue to inspire the profession long into the future.
We look forward to welcoming even more organisations, educators, ambulance services, students and supporters from around the world for International Paramedics Day 2027
.
Together, we will continue to celebrate the people, passion and profession behind paramedicine.
Thank you for being part of International Paramedics Day 2026.
